NRG took Cloud9 out in three maps, Dust2 (10-16), Train (16-11), and Mirage (16-3), while Renegades did the same with Isurus on Dust2 (13-16), Mirage (16-4), and Inferno (16-5).

Cloud9 were able to take a dodgy first pistol round on Dust2 on the attack against NRG after making it to the A site and planting. It wasn’t until the fifth round that NRG were able to get on the board as Ethan "Ethan" Arnold and Damian "daps" Steele were able to win a 2vs2 afterplant to defuse. After losing a followup, a triple by Timothy "autimatic" Ta got his team back to winning ways. It was then the Cloud9 show as they won round after round, including a few clutches, to keep NRG on the back foot.

After closing out the first half 11-4, Cloud9 took the second pistol round, the anti-eco, and the first gun round on their way to match point. NRG then won a few rounds to pad the result, even giving Cloud9 a run for their money, but it was finally the team led by Maikil "Golden" Selim that were able to close it out, 16-10.

NRG were able to seal the deal on Mirage

After losing the pistol round on the attacking side of Train, NRG were able to bring it to a tie thanks to a huge four-kill round by Vincent "Brehze" Cayonte. After losing the lead, Cloud9 and NRG brought it back close, with 5-5 on the board before NRG were able to one again take the lead on the attacking side, even going on to win the half, although Cloud9 brought it back to 7-8.

A fast B play on the attack by Cloud9 tied it up after the break, and Cloud9 were able to make it to double digits, but NRG quickly took the reins on the defending side and put distance between themselves and their opponents, eventually closing it out 16-11 to push the match to the decider.

Cloud9 exit early after losing to NRG

The first pistol round on Mirage ended up with Tsvetelin "CeRq" Dimitrov and René "cajunb" Borg in a low-health duel, but the Dane was unable to win as the clock wound down without the bomb planted. It was finally with AKs on the third round that Cloud9 were able to get on the board, but NRG took the lead early on in the half with a solid defense, 8-2. Cloud9 won one more, but were instantly traded as NRG closed the half 12-3. Having won the pistol round and with the wind in their sails, NRG sealed the deal, 16-3.

A triple by Ignacio "meyern" Meyer opened the way for Isurus to get off on the right foot on Dust2’s defending side against Renegades. The Argentines were able to take the first four rounds until Renegades were able to get on the board after a B play. After losing another, Maximiliano "max" Gonzalez came in big with a P250 triple to keep Isurus in control. Down 2-7, Renegades were finally able to get another after an aggressive play on Long led them to an afterplant situation on Long. The Australian side were then able to bring it back to 7-8 as Jay "Liazz" Tregillgas closed out a 2vs3 afterplant situation with a triple.

The second pistol round saw meyern open it up with a double, as Isurus went on to take the second to stay ahead going into the second half. A triple by Joakim "jkaem" Myrbostad with the MAG7 followed by a double by Aaron "AZR" Ward with the scout kept it close, but Isurus hit right back with a play on A to make it 10-8. Isurus increased their lead to 13, but then Renegades were able to make it to double digits. Two opening frags from Naim "spiXo" Nayeri on a pistol buy by Isurus on B helped his team to 14-10. Renegades then got two, but Isurus won another pistol force buy, this time on A, to get to match point, before closing it out 16-13.

jks had a great showing for his team

Mirage started off with Renegades taking the lead, 3-0, on the attacking side, until Isurus were able to get on the board once they were able to get fully equipped. Down 2-5, a triple by spiXo kept Isurus close, but it was then that Renegades with successful plays on A were able to start to build up a lead and put some distances between themselves and their rivals, even going on to win every round left in the half but the last one for an 11-4 lead.

Isurus were able to plant on A in the second pistol round, but were unable to defend the bomb, and after losing the forcebuy on the second round started to give up their options of trying to mount a comeback. Eventually, Renegades won the map out, 16-4, with an impressive performance by Justin "jks" Savage, who scored 33 frags in the 20 rounds.

Noktse & co. were unable to take Mirage or Inferno

Renegades got off to a flying start on Inferno, taking the pistol round and following it up twice before Isurus could get on the board. Down 1-5, a spraydown by Roberto "reversive" Themtham on Banana helped get his side another tally. jks then won a 1vs1 against reversive on an afterplant on A to keep increasing their lead, 7-2. It was finally a four-kill round by meyern with the AWP on A that got Isurus a third, 3-9. The last three rounds of the half were split, ending 10-5 for the majority Australian side. jks got a triple with the CZ75 on the second pistol to keep his team well in the lead and eventually go on to win the map out, 16-5.
